Former Ashantigold and Ebusua Dwarfs coach Ernest Thompson says he is the best candidate to lead Hearts of Oak.

The Phobians are currently without a coach following the exit of Serbian gaffer Slavko Matic and are in search of a new trainer for the 2023/24 season.

The former Ghana Premier League champions worked with three coach in the just ended season. Samuel Boadu started the season before he was shown the exit door for the Serbian gaffer following an unimpressive result.

After being attacked by the Phobian fans, Matic left his role, where his assistant David Ocloo took charge until the end of the campaign.

Just recently, Ocloo who guided the Phobians to a 12th placed finish has also relinquished his position.

Having applied for the vacant Hearts of Oka job, Thompson believes he is the best man to lead the Phobians.

“I have applied for the Hearts of Oak Coaching job, and believe I am the best to serve the club” he said.

The 56-year old has vast experience coaching in the domestic league, having managed a couple of clubs in the country.
