Former Hearts of Oak attacker, Kwadwo Obeng Jr has stated that he holds no grudge against his former side.
The 25-year-old attacker has been without a team since leaving the Phobian Club in January 2024 and missed the entire second round of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.
In an interview, Obeng Jr expressed his gratitude to the club's supporters, who he believes saw the potential in him as a player.
He also acknowledged that the management had decided to release him, but made it clear that he has no hard feelings towards the club.
"I have no regret playing for Hearts of Oak," Obeng Jr told Asempa FM as monitored by Footballghana.com.
"I was determined to continue playing for the club, but unfortunately, the management felt otherwise. I was awarded a one-year contract extension, but it was later rescinded, and I left the team. However, I have moved on and I'm focusing on my new team, Heart of Lions."
Obeng Jr has joined Heart of Lions on a two-year deal ahead of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season and is expected to boost the team's attacking options.
He recently featured in the Homowo Cup match against Hearts of Oak, which his new team lost.
During his time with Hearts of Oak, Obeng Jr won several titles, including the 2020/21 Premier League title and two FA Cups.
