Owner and bankroller of Samartex, Richard Duah Nsenkyire says he knew his outfit would clinch the Ghana Premier League title this season.

The Timber giants secured their first Ghana Premier League title in just their second season in the competition following their remarkable performance.

The Sameraboi-based club clinched the historic feat on Sunday with a dramatic 1-0 win over Bibiani Gold Stars, rendering their last two games a mere formality.

Their triumph makes them the eighth club to win the Ghana Premier League for the first time, dethroning Medeama, who were the champions last season.

Explaining how his outfit managed to secure the Ghana Premier League title, he said, “Our communication strategy, farewell strategy, and motivation strategy and how to get much closer to the players played a huge role in the team’s success”

“We also have players’ platform, which included the technical team, management, players committee and myself, where players can have direct access to me when they are not able to resolve their personal issues. So communication was very key towards our GPL success”

“We decided to embark on eight weeks preseason before we played the Nsenkyire Cup. So we realized all our mistakes and find solution before the start of the season. At the time, clubs were struggling in the league we were already at our peak. We were ready for the league. In fact, we won the league in the first. I knew we would win the league because of how prepared we were for the campaign. Our preparation was different from last season”

Samartex's success will be cherished forever by the people of Sameraboi and will serve as an inspiration, as they have also qualified for the CAF Champions League.

As the 13th club to win the Ghana Premier League, Samartex's triumph is a historic milestone, marking a new era for the club and their supporters.
