Ghana star Mohammed Kudus has disclosed that he reported to the national team camp late because of an injury setback.

Speaking ahead of the start of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, the West Ham United forward said he is now doing his best to be ready to help the Black Stars at the tournament.

‘’After our last game at West Ham I had a setback. I got an injury so I started my rehabilitation at the club.

''There was constant communication between the club physiotherapist and physiotherapists of the national team and the decision was for me to start my rehabilitation at the club and do the last part of my rehab here (in Ghana) and that is what I am doing.

‘’I am doing my best to be ready for the team because the only way I can help the team is to be fully fit and ready,” Mohammed Kudus said as quoted on the website of the Ghana.

The 2023 AFCON is scheduled to start in Ivory Coast today.

Ghana takes on Cape Verde tomorrow in the clash in Group B.
