‘I’m excited to be back home’ — Otto Addo shares delight on taking charge of Black Stars for the second time

Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo has shared his delight on taking charge of the Ghana senior national team for the second time.

The highly-rated tactician ended his stint with Borussia Dortmund at the end of the 2023/24 football season to fully take over as head coach of the Black Stars.

Addressing the press in Ghana on Wednesday, May 29, coach Otto Addo said he is happy to be back home.

“I am happy and excited to be back but it was not easy. The FA had a lot of talks with Dortmund and I am back home,” coach Otto Addo said.

At the press conference, coach Otto Addo also announced his squad for Ghana’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification matches against Mali and Central African Republic.

Ghana will travel to Mali for the first of the two word cup qualification matches in June on Tuesday, June 4. That game will be played on Thursday, June 6.

Subsequently, the Black Stars will host Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on June 10.
