It’s a fact there are a lot of lapses in Black Stars team – Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu

Former Black Stars midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, says it is a fact that there a lot of lapses in the Black Stars team that need to be rectified going forward.

However, he also admitted that there are a lot of positives in Ghana’s back-to-back wins against Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers last month that they can build on.

Many pundits have spoken about the manner in which the team concedes, with the defensive structure therefore needing improvement.

The Black Stars overcame half-time deficits in both games to emerge victorious and are now second in Group I of the 2026 World Cup qualifying, behind Comoros based on goal difference.

“He's bringing in new good guys. We have watched the two games. You can't even remember the last time we won two straight games, especially an away game. So, we can build on that,” Agyemang-Badu told Joy Sports.

“There are a lot of lapses in the team. That one, we can’t run away from that. He's well experienced. This is the second coming. He knows where he needs to beef up. We will support him.”
