RC Lens defender Kevin Danso has opened up about his future plans and the circumstances surrounding his absence in the final game of the Ligue 1 season.

Danso, who has been with RC Lens for three full seasons, has played exactly 100 games in the French top flight.

The 25-year-old Austrian international has been the subject of transfer speculation, with several top clubs reportedly interested in his services. Danso, however, is keeping his focus on the upcoming EURO, stating that he believes it's the right time for the next step in his career.

"I think the time is ripe," Danso said. "Now the focus is on the EURO, that's all I'm thinking about."

Danso's recent adductor problems had caused concern for the Austrian Football Association (ÖFB), with his fitness being a topic of discussion in France. The defender, however, has cleared the air about his absence in the final game of the season, attributing it to a misunderstanding.

"It was simply a misunderstanding," Danso explained. "My knee was still a bit sore because I was compensating for my adductor injury. The risk was just too great. We've sorted it out now, everything's fine again."

Danso has confirmed that he is now fully fit and ready to participate in the EURO.
