Ghana coach Otto Addo has singled out Kumasi fans for praise for the unwavering support for the senior national soccer team, the Black Stars over the years.

The Black Stars are back to Kumasi to open their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday at 16:00 GMT.

And Otto Addo speaking ahead of the game eulogized the fans for the continued support for the national team.

According to him, Kumasi fans has been very supportive of the Black Stars throughout his playing days till date.

“Yeah, to be honest, I'm not concerned. Kumasi fans in my time never let us down. The last game we were 2-1 behind against Central African Republic and they supported us all the way”

“So, I don't worry, they are always supportive, they help us and really we will need them tomorrow. They could suggest for me, keep it up what they are doing and it's very, very helpful. They are like our 12th player and we love to play in Kumasi” he added.

Following this, the team will travel to Berkane, Morocco for their second Group F game against Niger on September 9.

Ghana are aiming to start the qualifiers on a good note as they seek to secure qualification to the CAF’s biggest competition on the continent.

The Black Stars cannot afford to drop points on home turf following Sudan’s opening-day win over Niger.

Coach Kwesi Appiah led Sudan to beat Niger 1-0 and are currently on top of Group F.
