Mathew Anim Cudjoe bids emotional farewell to Dundee United after successful stint

Ghanaian attacker Mathew Anim Cudjoe has announced his departure from Dundee United, marking the end of a fruitful season with the Scottish club.

The 20-year-old joined Dundee United in August 2021 and quickly established himself as a key player, contributing significantly to their promotion to the top-flight league.

In the recently concluded season, Cudjoe scored four goals and provided three assists in 22 games. His performances have not gone unnoticed, with his current market value estimated at €150,000 according to Transfermarkt.

In an emotional farewell message posted on his official X page, Cudjoe expressed his gratitude to the club, its fans, and his teammates. "Dear Dundee United Family, I want to express my deepest gratitude and heartfelt thanks to everyone associated with this incredible club. Thank you for the opportunity to don the Dundee United jersey and represent such a prestigious institution," he wrote.

Cudjoe also paid tribute to the Dundee United fans, affectionately known as 'the Arabs', for their unwavering support. "To the special fans of Dundee United, your support has been phenomenal. Playing in front of you at Tannadice has been a privilege, and your cheers and encouragement will remain etched in my memory," he added.

The young attacker also thanked his teammates and coaches for their role in his development. "To my colleagues, it has been an absolute honor to share the pitch and the locker room with such talented and dedicated individuals. To all the coaches I worked under, I am grateful for your direct impact on my game," he stated.

Cudjoe is currently without a club following the expiration of his contract at the end of May.
