As part of King Mohammed VI’s vision to enhance Morocco’s football infrastructure and elevate the country’s profile on the global stage, Morocco is set to build the world’s largest stadium.

The Grand Stade Hassan II, a tent-shaped stadium in Casablanca, will have a capacity of 125,000 spectators.

The project, led by the architecture firm Oualalou + Choi in collaboration with global sports design experts Populous, aims to blend traditional elements with cutting-edge design, creating a landmark in sports architecture.

François Clément, Senior Principal and President of Populous France, and Lead Architect for the project, said, “The Grand Stade Hassan II will offer extraordinary spaces that create exceptional experiences for every fan and visitor.”

The stadium will feature a unique aluminum lattice structure. Its roof will be supported by a ring of thirty-two stairways, which will frame grand entrances surrounded by lush gardens on 28-meter platforms.

Reflecting Morocco’s rich cultural heritage, the stadium will include luxurious hospitality areas, such as VIP and VVIP lounges, providing an elevated matchday experience.
