Nsoatreman seeking to appoint CK Akonnor as new head coach - Report

Ghana Premier League club Nsoatreman FC are reportedly eyeing CK Akonnor, the former head coach of the Ghana national team, to take over as their new head coach, according to a report from Womtumi Radio.

This move follows the recent departure of Maxwell Konadu, who is set to sign a three-year contract with South African club Black Leopards as their new head coach.

CK Akonnor, a former Ghana international, has been without a coaching position since his dismissal as head coach of the Ghana national team just before the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations held in Cameroon.

Despite his hiatus, Akonnor's potential appointment at Nsoatreman FC could see him return to the helm and lead the club into the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup.

Akonnor's coaching pedigree includes previous experience with Kumasi Asante Kotoko in continental competition, specifically guiding them through the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup back in 2019.

With Nsoatreman FC gearing up for their venture into the CAF Confederation Cup, securing Akonnor's services could prove pivotal in their quest to leave a mark on the African football landscape.
