Former Ghana international, Yaw Preko, says Black Stars head coach Otto Addo knows he can do better with the team despite their impressive comeback wins in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The team came from a goal down at half time and won 2-1 against Mali and also went 2-1 behind to the Central African Republic and won 4-3.

But Preko believes Otto Addo is aware of the weaknesses in his team despite the wins.

“I think he knows there is a lot of work to be done and he can do better. Luck was on their side in the two games,” Preko told Asempa FM.

“He has what it takes to grow better still being international coach, he knows he will not have enough time.

“For now, it is better he got six points than going on the break thinking about what he would have done if they had lost points.

Ghana revitalized its 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign by securing wins against Mali and CAR on matchdays three and four respectively.

These victories propelled Ghana to second place in Group I, trailing only Comoros on goal difference.
