Otto Addo should set up his team to attack games from the start – Laryea Kingston

Former Ghana winger Laryea Kingston has urged Black Stars head coach Otto Addo to set up his team to attack games from the blast of the whistle.

He is saying this after Ghana’s two wins over Mali and the Central African Republic in the June 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The team did this after trailing at half-time in both games; 1-0 against Mali and 2-1 against the Central African Republic.

“We should take the game to open it earlier than to wait and then have issues in the first time before coming out,” Laryea told GTV.

“Our first game the same, when we opened up, went to the open it half, played more of the ball in the open it half, we created a lot of chances and then we got a win. Today to the same, we can see in the first time we did not create even one chance.

“But if you don't go to the open it box, you cannot have opportunity in scoring. Second half we went to the open it box and then we got three goals out of that.”

Ghana is currently second in Group I after four games in the qualifying series with 9 points – behind Comoros on goal difference.
