Black Stars captain Thomas Partey believes the team's current talent level could entice more players of Ghanaian descent from Europe to join the senior national squad.

The Arsenal midfielder shared his thoughts ahead of Ghana's 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger. Ghana will face Angola in their opener at the Baba Yara Stadium before travelling to Morocco to play Niger in their second Group F match in Berkane.

Partey, 30, lauded the quality of the current squad and urged Ghanaians to rally behind the team. He expressed confidence that the team's excellence could attract more European-born players with Ghanaian roots to represent the West African nation.

“I believe in all the players that have come to the team. They are young with quality and I think what they need is our support and the support of every Ghanaian,” Partey told SuperSport.

“Whoever wears, the jersey, we have to give him the best of support because I know and I see it from training and I am really sure it is going to be massive for the country and it is going to bring more players who are willing to play for Ghana,” he added.

The match against Angola is set to kick off at 16:00 GMT.
