Real Tamale United (RTU) had a close call with disaster after their team bus experienced a brake failure near Tuobodom.
The incident unfolded as the team was returning from Dawu, where they had suffered a crushing 8-1 defeat to Dreams FC in their week 28 outstanding game of the Ghana Premier League.
On June 13, the team's journey took a terrifying turn when the bus carrying the players and coaching staff suddenly veered off the road due to brake failure. However, the swift and skilled reactions of the bus driver averted a potential catastrophe. The driver managed to regain control of the vehicle and safely bring it to a stop, preventing what could have been a devastating accident.
Witnesses reported that the bus swerved dangerously before finally coming to a halt on the roadside. Miraculously, no injuries were sustained, and all team members on board emerged unscathed from the ordeal.
Real Tamale United, who have already been relegated from the top flight, have had a chaotic season both on and off the pitch. They are set to play Accra Great Olympics in their final game of the season.
