Success of Ghana football not all about winning trophies – Samartex President

The President of FC Samartex 1996, Dr. Richard Duah Nsenkyire, has asserted that the success of Ghana football should not only be measured by how many trophies the Black Stars win.

Ghana’s men’s senior national team, the Black Stars have not won an Africa Cup of Nations trophy in forty two years.

The Kurt Okraku led association has also received their bag of criticisms from Ghanaians for the poor performances of the Black Stars but Nenkyire believes all football stakeholders are part of the GFA.

“We can’t reduce the success of Ghana football to just trophies we win,” he told Asempa FM.

“The Black Stars we have not won a trophy for some time now but everything is a cycle. Football is for all of us. I don’t want to say the FA is different from us. We are part of the FA.”

Dr. Richard Duah Nsenkyire’s club won the Ghana Premier League title in only their second season in the Ghana Premier League.

The Samreboi-based wrapped up the title with two games to spare on Sunday afternoon after beating Bibiani Gold Stars 1-0.
