The Most Exciting Soccer Matches This Year

In October, rugby was in the spotlight. In November, cricket steals the show. But in the rest of the year, football will once again dominate the world of sports. Before the end of the year, we’ll have the chance to see many great football matches across the world. In this article, we collected the ones we are the most excited about.

Morocco - Eritrea (November 16)

The FIFA World Cup qualifiers for African nations begin on the 15th of November. The Black Stars will play against Madagascar on the 17th, a match that will certainly be a nail-biter. But most of the world will be excited about the match played by Morocco’s Atlas Lions against Eritrea’s national team on the 16th.

The Atlas Lions have had an incredible performance at the 2022 World Cup, reaching the semi-finals after knocking out Spain and Portugal from the competition. Do they have what it takes to go further this time?

Man Utd - Man City (November 19)

The Manchester Derby is one of the oldest - and fiercest - rivalries in English football that’s always in a special place in the fans’ hearts. Not to mention soccer betting sites. Manchester United is currently in the lead with 78 victories but City is coming up fast due to their excellent form and great lineup.

Juventus - Napoli (December 3)

The Napoli - Juventus rivalry is approaching its 100th anniversary. Juventus is ahead with 83 wins. Then again, Napoli is the defending Italian champion. So, we’re in for a treat when the two teams meet at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on December 3rd.

Barcelona - Atlético de Madrid (December 3)

El Otro Clásico is Barca’s rivalry with the other major Madrid-based club, Atlético (El Clásico is its rivalry with Real). This rivalry already had its 100th anniversary - but even without the special occasion, we can expect it to show top-notch Spanish football from some of the top-notch teams in La Liga.

Liverpool - Man Utd (December 17)

Out of the 200+ matches played by the Reds and the Red Devils, United won more - but Liverpool won with the highest goal difference, beating United 7-0 this March. Now it’s payback time - if United manages to pull it off.

The end of the year is filled with exciting matches to look forward to. Between the World Cup qualifiers in Africa and the Champions League in Europe, we’ll have many great matches to follow before the end of the year.
