The Black Stars of Ghana returned to the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Thursday afternoon to step up preparations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The four-time AFCON champions opened camp in Kumasi on Tuesday, a day after head coach Chris Hughton announced his 27-man squad for the upcoming tournament.

After two training sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Black Stars put in more work today.

Coach Chris Hughton and his technical team are preparing the team for what should be a difficult contest in the group stages at the AFCON.

Ghana has been pitted in Group B and will compete with Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique.

Among the three games, the second game which will be against seven-time champions Egypt is the one everyone on the continent is talking about.

The Black Stars are expected to return to training and Friday to prepare for the pre-AFCON friendly game against Namibia on Monday, January 8.
