VfL Bochum has reached an agreement with Osnabrück's German-born Ghanaian striker Christian Conteh for a transfer this summer, according to a report by Bild.

The 24-year-old versatile forward, who can play on the wing and as a center-forward, will join Bochum even if the club faces relegation.

Conteh's contract with Osnabrück is set to expire, meaning Bochum will not have to pay a transfer fee. The striker's future in the league, however, remains uncertain.

Bochum's chances of staying in the league are currently slim, following a 3-0 loss to Fortuna Düsseldorf in the first leg of the relegation play-off. The decisive second leg is set to take place tonight.

Conteh, who scored four goals and provided two assists in 30 second division games last season, has recently been linked with several clubs from the 2nd Bundesliga, including Schalke, Hertha, and Kaiserslautern. Despite the uncertainty, Bochum is hopeful that Conteh's addition will bolster their offensive line.
