WAFU B U17: University of Ghana set to witness top-level football as tournaments start today

The University of Ghana Sports Stadium is all set to witness top-level football with the WAFU Zone B U17 Cup of Nations tournament starting today.

The seven countries set for the youth tournament are hosts Ghana, Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Niger, Benin and Togo.

The Ghana U17 national team nicknamed the Black Starlets will open the campaign with a tricky tie against neighbours Cote D'voire on Wednesday, May 15.

The sub-regional tournament, which serves as the qualifying pathway for the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, runs from May 15-28, 2024 at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Talented players assembled by the various countries will showcase their talent as they battle to qualify for the next edition of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Today’s opening match between Ghana and Ivory Coast will kick off at 4 pm.
