Ghana coach Otto Addo has eulogized Kumasi fans for their unwavering support for the Black Stars ahead of their game against Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The West Africa powerhouse is set to kick off their campaign with a home match against Angola on Thursday, September 5, at 16:00 GMT.

Following this, the team will travel to Berkane, Morocco for their second Group F game against Niger on September 9.

The Palancas Negras impressed earlier this year by reaching the quarter-finals of AFCON 2023, while Ghana suffered a disappointing group-stage exit.

Speaking ahead of the game, Otto Addo asserted the Black Stars always love to play in Kumasi because of the unwavering support they receive any time they play there.

“Yeah, to be honest, I'm not concerned. Kumasi fans in my time never let us down. In the last game, we were 2-1 behind against Central African Republic and they supported us all the way”

“So, I don't worry, they are always supportive, they help us and really we will need them tomorrow. They could suggest for me, keep it up what they are doing and it's very, very helpful. They are like our 12th player and we love to play in Kumasi” he added.

Ghana are aiming to start the qualifiers on a good note as they seek to secure qualification to the CAF’s biggest competition on the continent.

The Black Stars cannot afford to drop points on home turf following Sudan’s opening-day win over Niger.

Coach Kwesi Appiah led Sudan to beat Niger 1-0 and are currently on top of Group F.
