Ghana international Emmanuel Gyasi wants Empoli to maintain their momentum following their crucial victory against AS Roma.

Gyasi played a pivotal role as Empoli cruised to a 2-1 away win over Roma on Sunday night.

The 30-year-old, who lasted the entire duration fired home his outfit opening goal as they went on to secure maximum points at the Stadio Olimpico.

Italy international Lorenzo Colombo scored from the spot to double the advantage for Empoli. Despite a late resurgence from AS Roma, with Eldor Shomurodov scoring a header in the 80th minute, Empoli held on for a memorable win.

“We prepared the game well and we won against a great team," said Gyasi after the match.

“The coach had studied the goal situation well during the week, it was a plan: attack at the far post. In fact, I tried at 0-0 but I was already thinking about how to celebrate, then it went well. We have to continue like this," he added.

Gyasi has featured in all two games for the Empoli, scoring one goal in the process. He will be hoping to maintain his fine form throughout the season.
