Head coach of the Black Stars, Chris Hughton has indicated that his players are also disappointed and pained after the draw against Egypt.

Despite some improvement from the team against the Pharaohs today, Ghana only picked a point from the second Group B match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Speaking to Felix Romark after the game, Chris Hughton said just like the fans, the draw was not what the Black Stars wanted.

He said just like Ghanaians, the players and the technical team are distraught after failing to pick up all three points from the Egypt game.

“We understand everything our supporters go through when they see performances that are not good enough performances. We feel it the same way. I’m happy today that they [the fans] saw the performance from the team and I think even though it’s not the result we wanted but I think they can be happy with the performance,” Coach Chris Hughton said.

After the draw against Egypt, Ghana only has one last chance to qualify for the knockout stage of the 2023 AFCON.

The Black Stars must win the last Group B game against Mozambique next week.
