Yamal, 16, scores again as Spain beat Cyprus

Published on: 16 November 2023

Lamine Yamal was already the youngest scorer in European Championship qualifying history

Spain's 16-year-old wonderkid Lamine Yamal scored his second international goal as his already qualified side beat Cyprus in Euro 2024 qualifying.

The Barcelona player became Spain's youngest player and scorer in a 7-1 qualifying win against Georgia in September.

On Thursday, he rounded the goalkeeper before slamming home an early opener after a 22-pass move against Cyprus.

Mikel Oyarzabal and Joselu put Spain in control before Kostas Pileas struck.

Spain are two points above Scotland at the top of Group A going into Sunday's final game with Georgia.
