2023/24 Ghana Premier League: check out the top four teams at the end of the season

The 2023/24 Ghana Premier League campaign finally came to an end on Sunday, June 16, 2024, with Samartex emerging as winners.

The Timber giants secured the first Ghana Premier League after beating Bibiani Goldstars in matchday 32.

But they were officially crowned champions on Sunday, June 16, 2024 in their final day game against Accra Lions.

In a special coronation match on Sunday afternoon, Samartex inflicted a 2-0 home win over Accra Lions at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex.

Accra Lions and Berekum Chelsea placed second and third positions at the end of the season, accumulating 51 points each.

Aduana Stars, on the other hand, finished the season as the fourth placed team, accumulating 50 points.

However, Samartex, the eventual Ghana Premier League winners were decorated with their medals at a colorful ceremony in Samreboi.

The atmosphere in Samreboi was electrifying as the team celebrated their league triumph in style.

Having emerged as champions, Samartex are expected to take home a whooping amount of GHC500,000.

Meanwhile, Accra Lions and Berekum Chelsea who finished second and third positions will take home GHC200,000 and GHC100,000 respectively.

Great Olympics, Bofoakwa Tano and Real Tamale United suffered demotion to the Division ranks.

However, three clubs from the Division One League have been promoted to the elite league and are expected to compete against some of the top guns in the 2023/24 season.

The newly promoted teams include Young Apostles, Basake Holy Stars and Vision FC are expected to feature in the domestic topflight next season after gaining promotion from the Division One League.
