In the pulsating buildup to the 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations, all eyes are on Guinea-Bissau's national football team, the Djurtus, as they gear up for a showdown against host Ivory Coast.

Amidst the rising anticipation, Zinho Gano, a striker from Zulte Waregem, has unequivocally declared that Guinea-Bissau is more than ready to take on any team in the upcoming tournament.

In an exclusive interview with CAF media, Gano not only shed light on his personal aspirations but also shared insights into the collective goals binding the team from Guinea-Bissau.

As the footballing world counts down to the inaugural match on January 13, 2024, where Guinea-Bissau clashes with Ivory Coast at the Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium in Ebimpe, the stakes have never been higher.

“Everyone must believe that anything is possible. Even for this opening match. With the opening matches, there are always surprises and why not, with us. We can win like everyone else, even if it’s Ivory Coast, Nigeria or Senegal. The match is 11 versus 11 and anything is possible,” said Gano.

"Why not ! In football, as they say, anything is possible. For me, that would be wonderful. It’s just about scoring as much as possible for my team and myself. I hope to score in the first match against Ivory Coast, that would be great,” Gano added.
