In the heart of Namibia's football ambitions beats a hunger for success, and as the tournament draws near, their coach, Collin Benjamin, is echoing the team's aspirations.

Namibia recently engaged in a pre-Afcon friendly against Ghana, a match that unfolded under the evening lights at the Baba Yara Stadium, culminating in a goalless draw.

This encounter was not just a mere friendly; it served as a crucial part of Namibia's strategy to fine-tune their game in the lead-up to the much-anticipated African Cup of Nations (Afcon), slated to commence on January 13 in Ivory Coast. The team, currently honing its skills in Ghana, utilized this friendly match, along with a prior one against Legon Cities, to sharpen their prowess.

"My team has character my team is hungry but of course these chances at this level against a very good team like Ghana they can play at this level," he said.

"And I think for us it is a plus it gives us hope we are able to create these chances," he added.

As Namibia inches closer to the Afcon kickoff, the focus is now intensifying on the grand stage where they will lock horns with Tunisia on January 16, 2024, in Ivory Coast.
