2023 Afcon: Omar Kamal declared fit for Egypt's opening game against Mozambique

In a reassuring update for Egypt's football fans, national team doctor Mohamed Abou El-Ela has confirmed that Omar Kamal, the Pharaohs' right-back, has been declared fit for their opening game in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) against Mozambique.

This announcement comes on the heels of the Pharaohs securing a 2-0 victory against Tanzania in their final pre-AFCON fixture.

Kamal, a key player in the Egyptian squad, had to exit the match against Tanzania during the second half due to an injury, raising concerns among fans. Ali Gabr stepped in as his replacement, but the prospect of Kamal missing the AFCON opener against Mozambique cast a shadow over the celebratory mood following the win.

However, Dr. Abou El-Ela has allayed fears, providing much-needed reassurance to the Egyptian faithful. With Kamal's return to full fitness, Egypt can now look forward to their opening game with confidence, as they aim to make a strong start in the 2023 AFCON campaign.

The Pharaohs are in Group B with Ghana, Cape Verde and Mozambique.
