2023 Africa Cup of Nations: Black Stars depart Ghana for Cote d’Ivoire on Wednesday

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has disclosed that the Black Stars will travel to Cote D’Ivoire for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament on Wednesday, January 10.

Before that, the national team is hosting Namibia in a pre-AFCON friendly match later tonight.

Meanwhile, the GFA has also confirmed that Mohammed Kudus is recovering well from his injury and will join the Black Stars in camp before the team departs from Ghana.

“Mohammed Kudus has arrived in Accra and will join the squad before our departure for Abidjan on Wednesday, January 10, 2024,” the FA said in a communique issued today.

The communique added, “The midfielder is recovering from a minor injury he picked up while playing for West Ham United against Arsenal in the Premier League on Thursday, December 28, 2023. The player is currently undergoing rehabilitation.

“The medical team of the Black Stars is monitoring his progress and is happy to have him join the squad for the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire.”
