Black Stars goalkeeper, Richard Ofori, stole the spotlight with a vibrant Adowa dance upon the team’s arrival in Ivory Coast.

Adowa, a traditional dance deeply rooted in Akan culture, is a ceremonial expression performed at events ranging from festivals to funerals, communicating emotions predominantly through hand movements.

It is often showcased to welcome dignitaries and enhance the celebratory atmosphere.

Decked in a beautifully woven and colorful kente, the Black Stars made a regal entrance into Ivory Coast, marking their participation in the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the continent’s premier football festival.

Deputy captain Richard Ofori, visibly captivated by the warm reception, enthusiastically joined the dance floor to celebrate the moment.

The Black Stars’ headquarters for the tournament will be in Abijan, where they are slated to play all three of their group stage matches.

Their arrival in Ivory Coast, adorned in the traditional Kente cloth, resonated with a royal touch, paying homage to the Akan tribe’s rich cultural heritage.
