2023 Africa Cup of Nations: We hope to do well at this big tournament, says Ghana coach Chris Hughton

Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton has assured that his team is working hard to ensure they do well at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

He gave the assurance when Ghana’s Ambassador to Cote D’ Ivoire, Frederick Daniel Laryea paid a visit to the Black Stars at their hotel on Thursday, January 11.

Speaking during the visit, Ghana coach Chris Hughton said it means a lot for the team.

He said his lads are eager to play well to excel at the AFCON, describing the tournament as a big one.

“Being here means a lot to us. This is always a big tournament. Obviously, you know this country very well. We hope to do well,” Coach Chris Hughton said.

On his part, Ghana’s Ambassador to Cote D’ Ivoire, Frederick Daniel Laryea stressed that the Embassy will support the Black Stars in all endeavours to ensure the team can do well.

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament will kick off in Ivory Coast on Saturday, January 13.

Ghana’s first match will be against Cape Verde on Sunday, January 14.
