Chris Hughton must have a good game plan for Ghana’s first game against Cape Verde - Laryea Kingston

Former Ghana midfielder, Laryea Kingston has opined that the Black Stars must start the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) well if the national team wants to do well at the tournament.

According to him, Ghana coach Chris Hughton needs to put together a formidable game plan that will see the Black Stars beat their counterparts from Cape Verde in the first match of the AFCON.

The 2023 AFCON will kick off on Saturday, January 13, in Ivory Coast.

Ghana will be competing in Group B where the Black Stars have been pitted agains Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique.

The Black Stars wrapped up training in Ghana on Tuesday and will travel to Ivory Coast for the tournament on Wednesday, January 10.

Ghana’s first group game against Cape Verde will be played on Sunday, January 14, and will kick off at 8pm.

The Black Stars will hope to win to make the remaining group matches easier.
