Democracy Cup: Deputy Sports Minister Evans Opoku Bobie calls for peace ahead of 2024 election

Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Evans Opoku Bobie has applauded Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin for leading the organisation of the Democracy Cup match between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.

According to him, the country needs to take a cue from the celebration of democracy and work towards a peaceful 2024 general election.

“We have to applaud Parliament for organisation the Democracy Cup. Everything has been very good. At the end of the day, it’s Democracy that has won. We are all happy because our democracy has won.

“This election this year what we are calling for is peace. This cup has brought about unity and that’s what we are all looking for,” Hon. Evans Opoku Bobie told Adom Sports.

In the curtain raiser for the Democracy Cup, Members of Parliament defeated Black Stars Legends 3-1.

The big game between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko is now kicking off.
