England teenager of Ghanaian descent, Samuel Amo-Ameyaw impressed with his performance and scored for Southampton on Wednesday night to help the side beat Cardiff City 5-3.

The 18-year-old forward started for the English Premier League club in the game against the lower-tier outfit in Round 64 of the England EFL Cup.

Operating on the right side of Southampton’s attack, Samuel Amo-Ameyaw caused a lot of trouble for the defense of the opposing team.

In the 30th minute, he was set up by Charlie Taylor and made no mistake as he scored with a fine effort to give his team a 2-1 lead to take into the break.

Before his equalizer, goals from Mateus Fernandes and Rubin Colwil had cancelled out.

After the first half break, a brace from Cameron Archer and a strike from James Bree propelled Southampton to the 5-3 win at full time.

An own goal from Ronnie Edwards and a goal from Alex Robertson could not save Cardiff City from the defeat.

The win means Samuel Amo-Ameyaw and his Southampton teammates will play in the next Round of the EFL Cup.
