Democracy Cup opportunity for Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko to test new signings – Opoku Nti

Asante Kotoko legend Opoku Nti believes the first Democracy Cup is an opportunity for Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko to test their new signings ahead of the new season.

Both clubs have signed players after struggling for results throughout last season.

Hearts of Oak survived relegation on the final day of the season with a dramatic win over Bechem United while Asante Kotoko finished sixth on the table, 12 points behind champions, FC Samartex.

Hearts of Oak face Asante Kotoko at 6 pm on Wednesday in the first ever Democracy Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium.

“I believe this match is a good timing for them to test their new players coming in and it will be good if their supporters come in numbers to cheer them up,” Opoku Nti told Joy Sports.

“I'm urging Kotoko supporters to come in numbers because I believe Kotoko is going to bury Hearts for the third time this year. We have beaten them back to back already.”
