Embattled RTU fails to show up for final GPL match against Great Olympics

Real Tamale United were unable to raise a team to face Great Olympics on final Ghana Premier League day.

The already relegated team did not show up for the match, and Great Olympics are likely to be awarded with three points and three goals as a forfeiture.

The Ghana FA would open investigation into the incident before a final decision would be made whether to awards Great Olympics with points and goals.

RTU are facing additional sanctions from the Ghana FA, having already been charged by the Disciplinary Committee for fielding unregistered players in a midweek game against Dreams FC.

The Pride of the North suffered 8-1 defeat to Dreams FC in an outstanding Ghana Premier League, unfortunately, RTU fielded unregistered players for the game following regular players refusal to play due to unpaid entitlements.

It appears RTU were unable to persuade their registered players to travel to Accra for the match against Great Olympics, resulting in the forfeiture.

Real Tamale United are now at risk of facing severe sanctions as their legal and administrative woes continue to deepen.
