Ernest Nuamah's Fulham transfer on the verge of collapse

Published on: 30 August 2024

Ernest Nuamah's potential move to Fulham is now on the verge of collapsing due to new issues, according to renowned football transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The deal, which was previously thought to be nearing completion, is currently off. Fulham had been working tirelessly to secure the Ghanaian winger, who was also linked to Everton before the Cottagers hijacked the deal. Manager Marco Silva was keen on adding the pacey forward to his squad.

Nuamah, who joined Belgian side RWD Molenbeek on August 30, 2023, was immediately loaned to French side Lyon for the rest of the season. The Ligue 1 club had a purchase option worth €25 million, plus €4.5 million in potential add-ons.

The talented winger made 29 appearances, scored three goals, and provided two assists in Ligue 1 last season. His current market value is €18 million, according to Transfermarkt.

On July 7, 2024, Lyon announced the permanent transfer of Nuamah from RWD Molenbeek for a reported fee of €28.5 million. However, the latest developments suggest that his move to Fulham is now in serious jeopardy.
