Ghanaian international Nathaniel Adjei marked his return from injury in FC Lorient’s victory over Grenoble Foot 38 in the French Ligue 2.

The versatile defender made a brief appearance for Lorient when they inflicted a 2-0 win over their opponent on Saturday.

Adjei, who joined Lorient from Hammarby has been out of action since May after picking up an injury against Olympique Marseille in the penultimate game of the 2022-23 campaign.

After almost four month’s absence, the Ghanaian defender has marked his return to the pitch following a cameo appearance against Grenoble Foot 38.

He was introduced into the 86th minute mark and showed glimpses of good performance for the Merlus

FC Lorient boss Olivier Pantaloni was impressed with the staunch guardsman's cameo appearance.

“I'm delighted to see him on the pitch. He has done a lot of work to be here today, so I'm pleased,” Pantaloni told reporters in the aftermath of the match.

Adjei will be looking to get more minutes in their next encounter against Amiens on Sunday.

He clocked 15 appearances for the Brittany-based outfit last term.
