Ghana captain, Andre Ayew has been left out of Black Stars coach Otto Addo’s squad for the first round of games in the qualifier for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, this is according to reports gathered.

The experienced Black Stars forward has been without a club since the 2023/24 football season ended.

Although he has been linked with a few clubs in the past week, no move has been completed.

While the attacker and his management work on a move, Black Stars coach Otto Addo has left him out of Ghana’s squad for the upcoming games against Angola and Niger in the AFCON qualifiers.

Should it be confirmed by coach Otto Addo at his press conference today, it would mean deputy captain Thomas Partey would lead Ghana into the games against Angola and Niger next month as the team’s captain.

The matches against Angola and Niger would be played on September 5 and 9 respectively.
