America-based Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil has made a return to the Black Stars for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games against Angola and Niger next month.

Paintsil, who plies his trade for US-based club LA Galaxy was left out of the Black Stars squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central Africa Republic back in June due to an injury setback.

In his absence, the West Africa powerhouse managed to secure a back-to-back wins against Mali and Central Africa Republic. The Black Stars revived their World Cup qualification chances under Otto Addo after triumphing over their opponents two months ago.

Otto Addo will unveil his squad for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at a press conference in the Conference Room of the Ghana FA,

Having recovered after playing constantly for LA Galaxy, the Black Stars coach has included the pacey winger in his squad for the AFCON 2025 qualifiers.

The Black Stars will face Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium on September 5 before travelling to take on Niger on September 9.

The AFCON qualifiers are crucial for the Black Stars, who are seeking to secure a spot in the tournament.

It is important to note that the two top countries from each group will secure automatic qualification to the CAF biggest competition on the continent.
