2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers: Otto names Black Stars squad for Angola, Niger games today
Black Stars coach, Otto Addo

Coach Otto Addo will announce Black Stars squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying opening games today.

Ghana will host Angola in their Group F opener on September 5 at the Baba Yara Stadium before travelling to play Niger away in four days.

However, Otto Addo is expected to announce a 26-man squad for the games today at the premises of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) at noon. The team will open camp in Accra before jetting off to Kumasi for the game.

Otto Addo submitted his squad for the games to the Executive Council of the country's football governing body last week ahead of the games as revealed by Footballghana.com.

Footballghana.com also understand that no Ghana Premier League player has been included in the squad for the games.

Otto Addo is expected to parade a strong squad for the two games as they hope to secure qualification for the tournament slated to be hosted in Morocco next year.

The Black Stars are hoping to continue their impressive performance against Angola and Niger having recorded back-to-back wins against Mali and Central African Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June earlier this year.

Ghana, who are four-time African champions, aims to secure one of the top two positions in Group F to qualify for the AFCON tournament, scheduled to be held from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
