GFA fulfills payment of prize monies to top 10 Ghana Premier League clubs - Kurt Okraku

President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku has confirmed making payments to the top ten Ghana Premier League clubs as prize monies following their outstanding performance last season.

In a bid to elevate the excitement and competition in the Ghanaian top-flight, the leadership of the domestic governing body promised to reward from the first to the 10th place teams in the 2023/24 Premier League campaign.

Speaking at the 30th ordinary congress in Prampram, Kurt Okraku disclosed his outfit has fulfilled payment of prize monies to the top ten clubs in the Premier League last season.

“I’m very happy to report to congress that the Football Association have fulfilled the promise we penciled out before the start of the competition last season. We have paid all the prize monies to Samartex, Accra Lions, Berekum Chelsea, Nsoatreman FC, Aduana Stars, Asante Kotoko, Nations FC, Medeama, Bechem United and Dreams FC in that order from the first positon to the tenth position” he said.

Samartex pocked GH¢500,000 (over $33,000) for clinching their first Ghana Premier League title last season.

Accra Lions finished second and took home GH¢200,000. Third-placed Berekum Chelsea got GH¢100,000, whiles fourth-placed Aduana received GH¢80,000.

Other rewards include Nsoatreman (GH¢70,000 for fifth), Nations (GH¢50,000 for seventh), Medeama (GH¢40,000 for eighth), Dreams (GH¢30,000 for ninth), and Bechem United (GH¢20,000 for tenth).
