Black Stars midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana says he is excited to be return to Atalanta Bergamo where he began his European adventure.
The club announced his signing on Thursday, July 17, 2024, but did not disclose how many years he is joining them for from Cagliari.
Following the announcement of the deal by the Europa League champions, the 21-year-old took to social media to express his delight the completion of the deal.
[I am] excited to be back home Atalanta BC where my European journey started five years ago,” he wrote on social media.
“I can’t wait to give my all on the field to the people Bergamo.”
Sulemana was one of Cagliari's standout performers in his debut season with them after joining from Hellas Verona following their promotion to the Italian top flight.
The 21-year-old featured in 21 games for the club in Serie A and scored two goals in the 2023/24 campaign for the club under Claudio Ranieri.
His performances for Cagliari earned him a maiden call-up to the Black Stars team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic in June.
