Nigerian winger Wisdom Fernando Bassey has set sights on helping Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko to win the Ghana Premier League title.

The 22-year-old was unveiled as a new Kotoko on Wednesday, penning a three-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2027.

Bassey has been handed with the number 7 jersey and is expected to play a huge role for the Ghanaian giants.

“We have not time to waste. I’m ready and I know what they are expecting from me. I have spoken to the coach and he knows what I can do. I’m here to add to the team to win the Ghana Premier League title” he said.

Bassey has seven goals and eight assists in 76 appearances in the Nigerian Professional Football League across seven seasons, playing for Akwa and Sporting.

He won the Nigeria Premier Football League title in the 2020-21 season with Akwa, with his impressive performances playing a crucial role in the triumph.

Fernando becomes the fifth foreign player to sign for the Ghanaian giants this transfer window after Sudanese duo Esmat Abdulhamid, AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub, Congolese defender Samba O’Neil and Guinean goalkeeper Mohamed Camara.
