I'm looking forward to facing Aston Villa; we want the three points - Leicester forward Jordan Ayew

Ghana forward Jordan Ayew has expressed his eagerness to play a role in Leicester City’s upcoming Premier League fixture against Aston Villa this weekend.

Leicester City will face his former club on Saturday, August 31, in a round three fixture, just before the international break.

The newly promoted side is still searching for their first win of the 2024-2025 Premier League season, having drawn their first game and lost the second.

Ayew made a notable impact in his first start for Leicester, scoring a stunning goal in their 4-0 triumph over Tranmere Rovers in the Carabao Cup second round.

The 32-year-old forward, who joined Leicester from Crystal Palace on a two-year deal, now shifts his focus to helping his new team secure their first league victory.

“I’m really looking forward to being involved, but like I said, I stay humble. I’m here for the team, I’m here for the manager, and obviously, if I start, fine; if I don’t start, that’s okay. The most important thing for me is for us to win on Saturday because we need the points.”

Ayew, who previously played for Aston Villa before moving to Crystal Palace, is set to face his former club in this weekend’s match.
